By using WordFiddle you agree to these terms. They are deliberately plain-English.

The service

WordFiddle is a free tool for creating interactive classroom activities such as quizzes, match ups, flash cards and word searches. It is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of it at any time — including the free tier — though we will not be careless with it.

Your activities are yours

Responsibility for content

You are responsible for the words, pictures and other material you put into activities:

• Do not create activities that infringe someone else's copyright, trade mark or privacy. Copying a publisher's textbook, worksheet bank or commercial question bank into activities is not allowed.
• Keep content lawful and appropriate for a classroom audience.
• Pictures found through the built-in search come from Openverse and Wikimedia Commons under open licences (CC0, Public Domain, CC BY and similar). The app stores and displays the required credits automatically — keep those credits intact. You are responsible for checking a picture suits your classroom before showing it.

Share links and exports

• Anyone with a share link can view and copy that activity. Treat shared activities as public: do not include students' personal information in them.
• Exported HTML files are yours to keep, email or upload elsewhere. The "made with WordFiddle" badge on free-plan exports may be removed only with a paid plan.

Accounts

Accounts are optional and free. One account is for one teacher — please don't share credentials. You are responsible for keeping your password safe and for the activities saved under your account. Accounts and cloud saving are provided on a best-effort basis: we do not guarantee availability, and you should keep exports of anything important. We may suspend an account that breaks the rules below. To close your account, contact us and we will delete it together with everything saved in it.

Acceptable use

• Do not use the service to create or distribute unlawful, hateful, sexual, or deceptive content, or content that impersonates a real person or organisation.
• Do not attempt to break, overload, or gain unauthorised access to the site.

The community library

Activities in the community library are provided by us and are free to play, copy and edit for educational use. If you spot a problem in one — an error, an inappropriate picture, a rights issue — please tell us via the contact page and we will remove or fix it.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, WordFiddle's operators are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the site, and total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us — which, for the free tool, is nothing. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Because saving currently happens only in your browser, clearing browser data deletes saved activities. Export anything important as a file.

Paid plans

WordFiddle Pro costs ¥30 for one month, paid by WeChat or Alipay. Payment is manual: you scan our QR code, send the screenshot, and we send back a redemption code that unlocks Pro features in your browser. There is no auto-renewal — nothing is ever charged again unless you choose to pay for another month. A redemption code is for your own use; we may refuse or replace codes that are resold or shared publicly.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; the date above will change. Material changes will be announced on the site before they take effect.
